National Association of State Foresters: The NASF is a non-profit organization that represents the directors of the State Forestry agencies from all fifty states, nine U.S. territories (American Samoa, the Federated States of Micronesia, Guam, the Northern Marianas Islands, Palau, Puerto Rico, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), and the District of Columbia.

College of Natural Resources, NC State University: Provides education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels for Forestry and Environmental Resources and Forest Biomaterials

Duke University, Nicholas School of the Environment

Haywood Community College: The Forest Management Technology curriculum is designed to help students acquire technical knowledge, understanding, and abilities essential in developing, conserving, and utilizing forest resources.

Montgomery Community College: Forest Management Technology is an Associate of Applied Science program designed to train individuals in technical forest management skills and help them develop competency in various woodland operations.

Wayne Community College: The Forest Management Technology curriculum is designed to help students acquire technical knowledge, understanding, and abilities essential in developing, conserving, and utilizing forest resources.

Natural Resources Leadership Institute: The Natural Resources Leadership Institute is a training program administered through the NC Cooperative Extension Service at NC State University. The Institute is the first of its kind in the country to provide a structured leadership curriculum for people who are critically involved in natural resources management and policy. 

Urban Forestry

ACTrees is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to building the capacity of its members to plant, sustain, and advocate for trees in America’s communities. With grassroots member organizations and network partners in the United States and Canada, ACTrees engages volunteers to take action to improve the environment where over 90% of people live and work: in cities, towns, and metropolitan areas. Together local ACTrees member organizations have planted and cared for over 15 million trees in cities with help from over 5 million volunteers.
